Kunohe boasts a rich natural landscape. Take in the great outdoors as you hike the scenic trails of Mt. Oritsumedake. A hike up to the summit of the mountain generally takes an hour and a half to 2 hours. Alternatively, you may choose to take a walk through the larch forest at Koropokkur Land, an outdoor leisure facility at the eastern foot of the mountain. Visit in early May and you can see white mizubasho (Asian skunk cabbage) flowers at the Toirazawa Mizubasho Flower Garden. Visit in summer and you can see water lilies. After you complete your hike, treat yourself to a bath at the Furusato Center.
