Koropokkur Land is an outdoor leisure facility located at the eastern foot of Mt. Oritsumedake. There you’ll find pyramid-shaped tree houses that, when seen from afar, look like gigantic mushrooms. These cute cabins are supposed to resemble the homes of the Koropokkur, little spirits who, according to Ainu lore, live under the leaves of butterbur plants, and also give the park its name. Each tree house can accommodate 4 to 5 adults. Guests can barbeque outside, beneath the raised living quarters. Feel free to purchase ingredients in the village and rent equipment.
